My name is Patricia (Pat) McAleer and I am the Physical Education/Health Teacher and fourth grade teacher at St. Ladislaus. I am a graduate of Illinois Benedictine University, Lisle, Illinois. I earned my B.A. in Physical Education with a minor in Health. My education continued at Dominican University, in the Graduate School of Education in the Reading Specialist program. During this time, I fulfilled my elementary methods courses to qualify me for teaching K-9. My graduate studies are on going.

My teaching experience expands elementary as well as secondary. I have taught at Madonna High School, Chicago, Illinois, and Immaculate Conception, Elmhurst, Illinois. On the high school level I taught Physical Education, Health and Biology. During this time I also coached Basketball, Track and Field, Swimming and was in charge of the Intramural program. My elementary experience includes teaching Kindergarten, 5th grade, 8th grade. During my 3 years as the 8th grade teacher, I was involved in a departmentalized schedule, where I also taught 5th grade Mathematics and Social Studies, 6th grade Social Studies, and 7th grade Language Arts. My years spent at Resurrection Catholic Academy (formally St. Francis Xavier), Chicago, Illinois, I taught Kindergarten and 5th grade.

I always attribute my decision to teach in the Catholic school system, as a result of having outstanding teachers in Catholic elementary and high school. My teachers examples impacted my life. I am eternally grateful for all their efforts. These teachers were generous individuals that loved teaching and loved their faith, they inspired me to teach. As a parent I know the great sacrifice that Catholic education poses on the family. As teachers we appreciate your effort and know it is difficult for many of you during these stressful economic times but you are willing to make the sacrifice. You have my word that your child, in my care, will receive l00% of my effort. My goal is to develop your child, as an academically strong individual and also morally grounded in the Catholic faith.
